Advanage Provides Jobs for So-Called “Unemployable” Young Americans

Advanage Celebrates 37th Anniversary providing jobs for young people from the underprivileged neighborhoods of America’s inner cities.

HARVEY, IL APRIL 25, 2016

On April 30, 2016 Advanage Diversified Products, Inc. of Harvey IL (http://www.advanage20x.com) will be celebrating 37 years of providing jobs for young people growing up in the underserved communities of the United States.

Such communities are found in our inner cities where schools are subpar, where more kids drop out of high school than graduate, where joblessness is a way of life, where young and old hang out on the street corners, and where crime runs rampant.

“These young Americans need a break.”

Says Nathan T. Edwards, Advanage Diversified’s founder and President, “We recruit young people from these miserable neighborhoods because they need help. They need training and they need motivation. No references or even a high school diploma required. Just a willingness to get off the streets, change their lifestyle, work hard and become a contributing citizen. ”

Since 1980, Advanage Diversified has been giving these young people a “break.” Consequently, the company has learned a lot about what does and doesn’t work when dealing with these young men and women who have not had the benefits of a decent education and a healthy, nurturing home life.

Advanage’s training program starts with teaching them how to take care of themselves. Shaving, bathing, dressing appropriately (pants pulled all the way up to the waist), showing up on time, and treating their fellow trainees and trainers with respect… all are mandatory requirements.

Ultimately the trainees will be taught how to sell because that is what Advanage Diversified is all about… selling Advanage Multipurpose Cleaner door-to- door all across the nation. However, to sell anything in life, including yourself, you first need:

1.    Self Confidence
2.    Verbal, listening and physical communications skills (posture, smiling, look-in- the-eye)
3.    Showing up on time, in the right clothing and with the right attitude (enthusiasm)

Only then, are the trainees taught how to sell Advanage’s products. The transformation from hanging out on the street corner to a self-confident, successful, professional salesperson is something to behold.

Today, there are thousands of successful Advanage alumni, in all walks of life, all over this nation. All of them seized the Advanage opportunity to get a job, learn how to cope with life’s uncertainties and enjoy a good life.

About Advanage Diversified Products, Inc.

Most of our sales agents are recruited from America’s inner cities. Many grew up in the under-served communities of America’s inner cities… where schools are sub-par and joblessness is a way of life. We give them a job, no references or even a high school diploma required. Just a willingness to create a better life for themselves, work hard and learn how to make an honest income.

We train them in both their personal and business lives. We mentor them to take responsibility for their own actions and teach them how to sell themselves and our Advanage Wonder Cleaner products.

Our business ideology dictates our agents treat prospective customers courteously and respectively. Over aggressive behavior is not tolerated and agents behaving inappropriately are disciplined and terminated when necessary. .

We’ve been selling our products door-to- door for over 35 years and have tens of millions of customers. Our success is not only based upon a fine product, but just as importantly on the quality and integrity of our sales agents.

If you would like to schedule a product demonstration, please call 708-331- 8390, ext. 5082 or you can go to our website at www.advanage20x.com and order online. Either way, you’ll be doing business with a reputable company selling a fine product. You won’t be disappointed.

The Winning Formula.

I watched the NBA (National Basketball Association) champions; the Golden State Warriors destroy the Cleveland Cavaliers (Lebron James’ team) the other night.  Then, two nights later they did the same thing to our home team, the Chicago Bulls.

I asked myself, how did this team, who up until a few years ago was just run of the mill, become so dominant?  Yes, they have a star player in Stephan Curry, but every good team has a star player.  This team is different.  Now, I am not a basketball expert.   But I am a good observer of human behavior.  Here is what I saw…

Teamwork.  Instead of clearing one side of the floor for a super star to go one-on-one, they pass the ball continually until one of them has an open shot

Hustle.  They get up and down the court faster than the other team.

Enthusiasm.  They hug and congratulate each other constantly.  Their bench players get on their feet and root for the guys on the court.

Practice.  The TV showed their start player showing up and practicing for hours before the game time.

Wow, that looks like a formula that has more applicability than just for basketball.  It looks, to me like a winning formula for success in all aspects of life.  Think about it.

Work with others. Give them a chance to contribute.

Work hard.

With a smile on your face

And do your job to the best of your ability by practicing and learning

Our company, Advanage Diversified Products, Inc., offers jobs to young people from the under privileged, inner cities of America.  We’ve done this successfully for over 35 years, that’s right, 35 years!

And guess what, our formula for success with these young Americans matches up very closely with what we see on the basketball court with the world champions.  That’s because in addition to teaching our young people workforce skills, we teach them how to work with others, hustle, smile and do the job to the best of their ability.   No experience necessary… just a willingness to listen, learn and work hard.

Motivation Matters
January 27th, 2016 by GBN1

For the past 35 years, our company Advanage Diversified Products, Inc. has been hiring young people from our nation’s underprivileged inner cities.  We hire them because to sell our products successfully, door-to-door, you don’t need a college (or even a high school) degree.

All they need is to be willing to listen, learn, and work hard.  Soon, not only have they learned how to sell and make some money, they have also gained the self-confidence and self-discipline to succeed in all walks of life and become contributing citizens.

Consequently, there are thousands of appreciative Advanage alumni all over this nation and we hear from them continually.  Here is a snippet from an email we recently received from one (not so young any more) former agent.

“… when I worked with you, I learned so much about people and the slice of life I that can be obtained by being motivated and aggressive.  I also learned that successful people are not afraid to suggest and create new ideas.   Thank you for the dedication you have given to people.”

Please note he uses the words “motivated and aggressive.” That’s because we teach and show our people than a motivated, aggressive, enthusiastic and hard working person will outperform lethargic and unmotivated people every time.

This is what we’re doing, on a broader scale by forming a 501c3 non-profit organization, www.advanagefoundation.org.  Our foundation provides workforce development programs for these unemployed, underprivileged young Americans.  We teach them workforce skills and we also instill in them the desire and confidence to go through life with gusto.  Please visit our website and help us help these young people learn how to make a living and live a better life.

on the Door-to-Door sales business.

In the Door-to-Door sales business you probably get more rejections and No’s than in just about any other profession. Here’s how we sales professionals reject the potential negative effects of rejection. We see it this way….

The more No’s you get the more sales you’ll make.

Let’s say, you have to make 4 personal contacts to make one sale and one sale is worth $60. So if we make 20 personal contacts in a day, we’re going to make 5 sales or $300 for the day. That means, for the day, we got 15 No’s and 5 Yes’.

To put it another way, 20 personal contacts resulted in $300 which translates to $15 per personal contact. That’s why and how professional sales people ‘Learn to Love No’ because every time we make a personal contact, we are earning $15.

You’re not being paid by the sale, you’re being paid by the contact.

So every ‘No’ is putting money in your pocket. Which of course backs up something you already knew…that the more doors you knock on, the more sales you’re going to make.

Our company Advanage Diversified Products, offers young people and individuals wanting to have their own business, opportunities to sell our line of Advanage Cleaning products via Door-to-Door sales business. We train them how to sell, how to deal with rejection and how to make a fine living.

High School Drop Out Rates in America’s public high schools, 45% of black students and 43% of Hispanics (as compared to 22% of whites) drop out before their classes graduate. Dropout rates are especially high in urban areas with large minority populations.

And of those black and Hispanic students who do manage to earn a diploma, a large percentage are functionally illiterate. Black high-school graduates perform, on average, at a level that is four academic years below that of their white counterparts.

Substandard schools, poverty, non-existent parenting, and teachers unions focused on compensation, tenure and benefits or just some of the reasons why these young Americans are destined to live their lives in poverty and underachievement.

Our company, Advanage Diversified Products, Inc. hires young people from our nation’s underprivileged inner cities.  So we see first-hand just how ill-prepared these young people are to become contributing citizens.  We can’t do much about their formal education but we can give them a job and give them some hope for the future.

To those ends, we have formed a 501c3 non-profit organization www.advanagefoundation.org that provides workforce development programs for these unemployed young Americans.  Please visit our website and help us help these young people learn how to make a living and live a better life.

NTE and Crew Suited upMigrants find success in the United States, the pursuit of the American dream is as old as America itself. The goal of seeking a better life is limited only by ones determination, imagination and ability. This pursuit continues to fuel the dream of migrants who leave their home, comfort, friends and family. For many who have migrated from their home in pursuit of the American dream it has led them to unheard of success.

Many of the people shown here are business people in their own rights which exemplifies their undying entrepreneurial spirit that hard work, honesty and integrity still goes a long way in 2015. As Advanage prepares to celebrate its 31st year in the door-to-door industry, these independent distributors can highlight their migratory experience from state-to-state across our nation in pursuit of the American dream. The celebration is to amplify and promote the new marketing additive of signing customers up to be distributors of our Wonder Cleaner thus, assuring their continual success.

These are members of Mr. Nathan T. Edwards’ sales crew that migrated from the inner cities of America to different parts of the United States in search of reaching the American dream far into this century.

Goal Setting

Before you take the time to set your personal goals, you should first figure out what you want. I mean really want. Something you want so much that it gnaws at you. Something that keeps you awake at night because it is something that will make a difference in your life.

Let’s say you are tired of hitching a ride with your friends and/or taking the bus. It’s time to get your

own car. However, you’re going to need at least a $1,000 for a down payment and another $500 for insurance. And that’s not going to be easy, because you’ve never been a good saver and right now your savings account is almost empty. So you’d better really want to do this because there is going to be pain and failure along the way, so your desire must be strong enough to overcome all obstacles.

Here then are some steps to effective goal setting:

  1. If it’s not in writing, it’s not a goal, it’s a wish.
  2. If it’s not specific it’s not a goal.
  3. It has to be believable. If you don’t really think you can do it, you won’t pay the price to do it.
  4. It should be a challenge; it should push you beyond where you are.
  5. Don’t set short term goals for more than 30 or 60 days. Otherwise you’ll lose interest.
  6. Set activity goals not production goals. If your goals are production (end results), you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. In this example, you need to accumulate $1,500. The goal should not be to save so much money every week. Instead your goals should be to execute the activities that will enable you to put a certain amount every week. That means you need to bring in more money and/or spend less. So one goal might be to work 8 hours of overtime each week. Another could be to eat breakfast at home instead of spending $7 or $8 every morning at Starbucks. These are the kind of goals that you control and can be accomplished without relying on others or luck.
  7. Start today. Think about what you really want and write down some short-term goals that will get you going in the right direction.

You’ll soon realize that goal setting leads to goal realization which leads to new and more ambitious goals which leads to more and more success.
